Weekly Challenge Wednesday

Every Wednesday I will post a challenge to help with the money saving journey. The challenge will run from Sunday 1/31 until Sunday 2/7. I would love for you to join me.

This weeks challenge is to eat at least two meals from items you have on hand. The idea here is twofold. First of all, the items that may have been pushed to the back of the pantry or fridge will get used up. If groceries are purchased on sale, but go bad, then that is no savings at all and a pure waste. Secondly, less money will be spent at the grocery store because two less days worth of food will be bought.

The reason for this challenge is because I have allowed things to go bad numerous times. I need to better about not being wasteful.

  1. I do this often for the same reason... It is definitely a challenge though :) Most of the time I pushed it to the back cause I didn't want it didn't sound good. I am enjoying your blog. It is almost like we are on a walk around the lake and you are sharing your ideas with me.

  2. I just finished two weeks of ONLY eating out of the pantry/freezer. I usually try to do that once a month, but this was a busy month, and luckily we had enough for 2 weeks! Now to build my stockpile again. Great idea to break it up into 2 meals a week, kim. Love the blog.

  3. My goal would be to eat an entire two of meals from the freezer/pantry. I am still learning creativity when it comes to menu planning.
